Xiaomi launched the much-awaited flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi Note 2 in China on October 25. The event started at 11.30 AM IST (2PM CST) and was live-streamed on YouTube and via Facebook.

Dubbed as “Curved to impress”, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2  features a two-sided dual curve display, which is similar to that of the dual-edge display on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

Xiaomi took to twitter and shared the launch date, name and the ‘two-sided dual curve’ design on October 21. Over the past several days, there has been widespread information about the handset on the rumor mills. We also saw rumors about the pricing of the phone. Moreover, the actual presentation slides were also leaked.

If rumours are to be believed, Xiaomi will launch 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM variants. The 4GB RAM model will have 64GB internal storage and will be priced at CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 27,800). If you look at the 6GB RAM/128GB storage model, it will be priced at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 29,800).

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features dual curved display

The main attraction of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is the integration of a curved display, a dual rear camera setup similar to the one seen on the Mi 5s Plus, an iris scanner. If Xiaomi manages to integrate an Iris scanner, it will be a big win for the company since Samsung has discontinued Note 7 sales and production. The company will be able to attract potential Samsung customers.
