Pinkathon Delhi concludes with Selfie-thon with Milind Soman

Nearly, thousands of women participated in the fourth edition of Pinkathon Delhi to create awareness about a healthy lifestyle for women and breast cancer. The run event was conducted on Sunday morning. The organizers were able to attract thousands of women from all walks of life. To add more charm, participants also got an opportunity to capture selfies with Ironman title winner, actor and founder of Pinkathon, Milind Soman.

The Pinkathon Delhi race was divided into 3, 5, 10 and 21 kilometers. This provided an opportunity for all sections of people to enjoy the run. Recently, Abhishek Mishra, former Ironman title winner recently ran 162 km in 26 hours from Kotputli in Rajasthan to India Gate, Delhi to spread awareness about the marathon event.

Pinkathon Delhi 10000 participants

Commenting on his run, Abhishek disclosed that the response to the Pinkathon run event was extremely positive with over 10000 people participating in the race. This is high when compared with 2000 people in 2013. He also lauded the efforts of Delhi Police and NDMC.

Pinkathon Delhi to spread women empowerment

Participants also clicked selfies with Milind Soman, who is the brand ambassador of the event. Milind said that the marathon is all about women empowerment.

Moreover, it is essential to stay healthy to achieve the goals. He got excited when people from all sectors from corporate employees, homemakers, kids, visually-impaired girls and cancer survivors came in large numbers and joined the race.

Pinkathon Delhi 75-year-old senior citizens participated

According to organizers, several people ranging from 5-year-old kid to 75-year-old senior citizen assembled at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. They started to dance to the tune of Bollywood songs to warm up initially. After that, everyone started to run.

Responding to media, Madhu Sharma, a 66-year-old Gurgaon resident revealed that he managed to take on board both my daughter and daughter-in-law along for the event. He usually goes for normal walks but today he ran for 5 kilometers.

Meanwhile, Jagriti Thakur, a college student said that she ran to motivate others. She also added that females can overcome several gynecological disorders if they can run once in a week.
Pinkathon Delhi: Dehydrated participants completed the task

During the event, a bunch of cyclists acted as pilots and volunteers for the event to help the participants. They said that some of the female runners were dehydrated and almost on the on the verge of collapse. However, they managed to reach the finishing point with a sole aim to complete the race.
