The strife in the ruling Yadav clan in Uttar Pradesh has now come out in the open, and it seems there is a political crisis in the offing. The youngest scion of the Yadav clan and the present CM of the most populous state of the country Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday, 14 September 2016, canceled official engagements.

Reportedly, Akhilesh is not in talking terms with his dad Mulayam Singh after he was striped from the party chief’s position.

Meanwhile, uncle Shivpal Yadav who has been stripped off his outstanding portfolios said there is no strife in the family, and he will follow the directions of his elder Brother Mulayam Singh Yadav who is the only Supreme authority in the Samajwadi party.

Latest Shivpal Yadav-Akhilesh Yadav contention

The top echelons of the SP are in a damage control mode and are trying to keep its flock together before the crucial UP elections. Urgent parleys were conducted by the Party Supreme with Shivpal and Ram Gopal Yadav for a meeting in New Delhi.

As the state plunged into crisis, the CM stayed in the state capital. The affairs of the state have not been smooth with the 41-year-old CM facing flak for the worsening law and order situation in the state.

Earlier he had dismissed two ministers after corruption allegations. The Principal Secretary has also been sacked within two months after getting the charge.

Speculation is rife that Shivpal will have to give in his papers. Shivpal has been quoted as saying that taking or giving portfolios is the authority of the CM.

He added that he would accept the decision of the party chief. When the press asked about his future course of action, Shivpal said he would talk with Netaji aka Mulayam Singh.

He reiterated that the people of the state have full faith in the Samajwadi Party. Thousands of people have gathered outside his residence to express solidarity with the SP leader.
