The sports drama film Sultan released on the special occasion of EID on 6th July 2016 has received positive comments from critics and audience till date. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar the Salman Khan sports film is still running in theaters for last 50 days of its release. Currently, the movie has earned Rs 300.45 crore till August 25 in the domestic market and crossed Rs 580 crore worldwide.

Breaking box office record

The film which also stars Anushka Sharma has become the highest-grossing film in the history for India’s leading movie production banner Yash Raj Films (YRF). To mark the success of the superstar the producer released a new poster celebrating Sultan’s 50 days successful run at the theaters.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the new poster on his social media site with a caption: #Sultan completes 50 days. Still in theaters while the total till August is Rs 300.45 crore. He further compared the film release with the releases this year and how fast it took for the movie to join the Rs 100 crore club. It took the Olympics-oriented movie only three days to make it one of the quickest to enter the club.

However, the film slowed down by the second week, and the Sultan fever came to a slow death. By the end of week two Sultan had already crossed the 200 crore mark but after that, it could only add 100 crores to its kitty. In the fourth week, it just earned Rs 4.43 crore and managed to enter the 300 crore club.

But nevertheless, the fact remains that a sports-oriented movie has made its name as one of the biggest blockbusters of all time.

The never dying Salman Khan fever

One thing that makes the superstar different from all the other actors are his fan base which keeps increasing with passing time. One should also not forget that on the recently released Forbes list of highest paid actors he made his presence felt by standing at number 14. His total earning for the entire year including endorsement television shows and movie is $28.5 million.

People who have watched his performance in Sultan believes it to be one of his best, and even the critics agree with it. Also, the good word of mouth publicity by his fan have attracted more audience and kept the movie alive till 50 days.

A Recent report states that it is the second highest grossing film of Bhai and the third highest grossing movie of all time.
