Xiaomi is one of those smartphone manufacturers that are penetrating the world markets rapidly. The company has launched a new Y series for the modern youth. These are Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite. Redmi Y1 is the smartphone that is selfie centric. It has a 16MP front camera with LED flash. Redmi Y1 Lite has 5MP selfie camera and seems an upgraded version of Redmi 5A. The company is promoting the Lite model as most affordable large screen model under Rs. 10,000. Xiaomi has also announced a new version of user interface MIUI 9.

The detailed specifications show that Redmi Y1 features 5.5-inch 1280X720 pixels display with corning gorilla glass protection. Under the hood, there is a Snapdragon 435 SoC paired with 3GB RAM. There is a 13MP back camera with a support of PDAF technology and LED flashlight. One of the most touting features of this device is 16MP selfie camera with LED flash. The company has also added beautify 3.0 feature in this camera for more beautiful and stunning selfies.

The device has 32GB built-in memory, and the user can extend it to 128GB through a memory card. The connectivity features include a dual SIM dedicated slot with a support of 4G VoLTE, WIFI, Bluetooth, Fingerprint sensor, and USB. On the back, there is 3080mAh battery with support for fast charging.

The Redmi Y1 Lite supports 5.5-inch display and has Snapdragon 425 SoC processor clocked at 1.4GHz. It also has 13MP back camera with LED flash while the front camera is 5MP. The users can expand the memory of this device to 128GB through MicroSD card. It also has same 3080mAh battery like Redmi Y1.

Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has two variants. One features a 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and has a price tag of Rs 8,999. The other variant has 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory and has a price tag of Rs. 10,999. The Redmi Y1 Lite has only one variant with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard memory. It has a price tag of Rs. 6,999.

Both these devices will be available through Amazon India. The company also plans to sell the device through Mi.com. The devices will be available through these online stores on November 8.
