Chinese tech giant Xiaomi seems to prepare for the holiday season in India. The company has launched a Special Edition Red Variant of Xiaomi Mi A1 in the country. It has also clarified that this new red variant will be available in limited quantity. The handset will sell through Flipkart and Mi.com for online customers. The customers can also purchase it through Mi Stores, Mi preferred partner stores, and retail partner stores from December 20. The price tag of this new red variant of Mi A1 is Rs.13,999.

Here, it is important to mention that this new red variant has the same hardware as original Xiaomi Mi A1. The company had launched Xiaomi Mi A1 in September. This Mi A1 special edition runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box. The device features a 5.5 inch Full HD IPS display with 1920X1080 pixels resolution. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM.

The onboard storage of the device is 64GB and the users can expand it to 128GB through a memory card. This dual SIM device has a dual camera setup at the back. Both the back cameras have the 12MP sensor. The only difference is that one has wide-angle f/2.2 lens while the other has f/2.5 telephoto lens. This photography feature of the device also supports 2X optical zoom. The device also features a 5MP camera on the front along with the feature of beautification mode.

The connectivity of the device includes 4G VoLTE, WIFI 802.11, Bluetooth, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is a 3080mAh powered battery that will last for one day on a single charge. Now, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is available in India in four colors. These are Black, Gold, Rose Gold, and Red.
