Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the biggest statue of the world, the statue of Unity of Sardar Patel. The statue is expected to become one of the very popular destinations to visit in Gujarat for the tourists. Also, the advertisement campaigns have already started by the Gujarat state tourism department as it is one of the main attraction for the tourists and winter holidays are also around the corner.
The statue has been made in the honour and to give tribute to the ‘Iron Man of India’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This project is not only considered only the memorial but also it is a big part of the tourism sector ecosystem. The best part about the statue is that it is located on an island and is beautifully surrounded by the Satpura and Vindhyachal hills and in the background. On the other hand, the flowing of the Narmada river adds a plus to its touristic appeal.
To seek the tourist’s attention, the state government has taken many initiatives by building 3 start hotels, shopping complexes along with the research center in the Sardar Patel Statue complex. The government has built high-speed elevators which will help you to take a full view of the statue and also you can admire the serene environs. There is a platform made which is close to the chest of the statue and it can accommodate 200 people at the same time.
Those who love clicking pictures, the complex has provided a separate selfie point which will give you the beautiful background of the statue and its surroundings. It is also equipped with the museum and audio-visual gallery. As well as the tourists will have the opportunity to see a laser, light and sound show in which the fusion of India and the post-Independence period will be shown. There is a bridge through which you can reach the statue from the mainland but for more fun, you can opt for a boat ride to reach Sadhu Bet Island.
You can visit the Statue of Unity on all days in a week and opening hours will be from 9 am to 6 pm. It will be open for the public from tomorrow onwards, as far as booking tickets is a concern then you can get it booked through online or else you can directly walk-in and get the tickets on the spot.
