The instant messaging app WhatsApp has disclosed the number of its daily active users. The company has made it public that it has one billion daily active users. The application also has 1.3 billion monthly active users. These figures are quite astonishing as no other social media application has such a large number of daily active users. Since its merger in Facebook, the application is growing at very fast speed. This is because of its easy user interface and it’s being free of ads.
This is a brave move from the company because most of the social media apps do not disclose the number of their daily active users. The tremendous success of WhatsApp is because of its support for sixty languages. The app manufacturer has added many new and innovative features in this app. In the beginning, the app supported messaging only. But now, the users can use it for sharing pictures, videos, and making voice and video calls. The number of shared pictures, messages, and videos is also quite astounding.
According to WhatsApp management, about 55 billion messages, 4.5 billion photos, and 1 billion videos are shared on this platform daily. Now, there are reports that many new features are coming its way. One of those new launching features is the recall feature. This will help the users to recall or un-send the already sent messages. The web users of WhatsApp will enjoy this new feature under the update version 0.2.5370.
Earlier, we also heard that the Android users of WhatsApp will also enjoy the new PiP video calling feature soon. This feature will allow the users to enjoy chatting while seeing a video on the screen. The beta version of WhatsApp (2.17.265) with this updated feature has already hit the devices. There are also reports that this feature will come pre-installed in Android ‘O’ version.
