Google has released Android 7.1.2 builds for both Nexus and Pixel devices. This came a few moments after the launch of the April security patch builds that was based on Android 7.1.1. In 7.1.2 build, the users can find the images as well as the OTA images. The models like Pixel C and Nexus Player started receiving the update for Android 7.1.2 just a few days ago.
OTAs for the models like Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, along with Nexus Player are now all live. The models like Nexus 9 and Nexus 6 have reached their end. Therefore, they will not receive any update of the Android 7.1.2 and the OTA files. The build information is as follows:
- Pixel or Pixel XL: N2G47E or N2G47J
- Pixel C: N2G47D
- Nexus 5X: N2G47F
- Nexus 6P: N2G47H
- Nexus Player: N2G47H
The reason for the split up of the builds on the models of Pixel and Pixel XL are still not clear. The update of Android 7.1.2 might start coming on the models in a short duration. However, the users can always flash the OTA image in a manual manner in case you are patient enough.
In a statement, Google said that the rollout of the Android 7.1.2 would start to reflect in the devices like Pixel and Pixel XL in a few days. This update will contain several bug fixes and additional features to optimize the overall performance of the smartphones. In addition to this, the users can also expect:
- Improved fingerprint swipe performance
- Better battery usage alerts
- Improved Bluetooth connectivity
- Stability and performance improvements
So go ahead and wait for the excellent update to come up in your Pixel or Nexus phone.
