On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra said that the housing scheme by the former ruling party Congress-led UPA was launched with the specific aim of spreading misinformation. The earlier flagship housing scheme of the erstwhile Congress-led UPA regime was launched with the sole aim of a dynastic ruling and towards vote-bank politics.
While addressing the people in the temple town of Shirdi in Ahmednagar district, Modi said that the efforts of providing proper homes to the poor and needy people was not true and was merely a strategy by the UPA to collect the vote banks from them. He further added that the Congress government never started any policy for the development of the poor people. By criticizing the UPA’s developmental schemes, PM Modi said that the scheme was puzzled with inadequacy and infected by political games.
When Congress was in the power they had built only 25 lakh homes all over the country. While Bhartiya Janta Party erected 1.25 crore of buildings since they came into the power, said Mr. Modi. He also stated that the deprived were never on the top of the Congress government priority list.
PM Modi was present at Sai Mandir with Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, to offer prayers on the event of the closing ceremonial of the Sai Baba Samadhi centenary celebrations. He visited at the temple for the first time since he became Prime Minister in May 2014.
After offering the prayers PM Modi offered keys of the houses to 40,000 receivers of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY- G) and also communicated with some of the receivers from several districts comprising Nandurbar, Satara, Solapur and Amravati via video conferencing during the e-griha Pravesh ceremony at the MSFC ground in Shirdi.
He also revealed during his speech that he is happy that all the middle-class people are being weeded out in growth schemes and today there is no place for corruption in the country. Moreover, the houses which are going to be built in the rural areas will be allotted to the women.
