On Tuesday, Two militants lost their life while six people were injured in a gunfight that took place in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district. As per the news sources the gunfight took place the life of two militants in Kundalan village when they challenged and opened fire on the security forces earlier in the day. The dead body of the following militants has not been able to recover yet.

In this incident, two troopers of the 44 Rashtriya Rifles, including a junior commissioned officer (JCO) and 4 other civilian protestors were also injured, said one of our sources.

The four other civilian protestors were injured during the gunfight as they engaged themselves with the security forces near the gunfight site, sources further added.

At present the soldiers who got injured during the incident have been shifted to Army’s 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar while the civilians who came in contact to the situation were shifted to a different hospital, the police officer said.

Besides these deaths and casualties that have made Jammu and Kashmir quiet for a while, there has been another death related to the incident in the Kundalan village. Our sources said that a father died on hearing that his son was trapped in this brutal gunfight that took place in the state. Muhammad Ishaq Naikoo was the father of  Zeenat who had recently joined militant ranks and on hearing the news of his son being captured in the deadly event died due to shock, he was declared dead by the doctors on arrival at the hospital.

As per the sources, a bunch of terrorists were in a house near Kundalan village and were almost stuck there. The search operation soon converted into an open fire encounter when the militants opened fire upon the security forces. During the incident, many civilians rushed towards the site where the incident was taking place and started throwing stones at security personnel.
