The newly formed Samajwadi Secular Morcha’s founder shocked everyone by sharing the stage with the Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav on Friday at Lohia Trust office.

Last month, Shivpal Yadav, brother of Mulayam Singh Yadav split from Samajvadi Party to protect his “honour” and formed Samajwadi Secular Morcha party.

The two leaders belonging to different parties, in fact, anti-parties were sitting together on the stage.

The Samajwadi rebel, Shivpal had organized an event to pay tributes to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia on the socialist leader’s death anniversary at the trust office.

Mulayam Singh said “Injustice must always be opposed. If a brother does injustice to a younger brother than that must also be opposed. Such were the thoughts and philosophies of Dr Lohia and I agree with this. Wherever there is an instance of injustice, be it a family, a village, a city, a voice must be raised against it. Lohia always sided with justice and always opposed injustice.” while addressing the gathering present.

Shivpal Yadav even showed his love and respect for his brother and said that Netaji’s (Mulayam’s) blessing was always with them and he follows his brother’s ideals. He added that the presence of Netaji and ethos would cultivate changes in the state and country.

Mulayam Singh Yadav had been always seen with his son and party president Akhilesh Yadav. He even accompanied his son in Delhi at Jantar Mantar at the end of a cycle rally by the party in New Delhi last month. But this is the first time the SP founder was seen with the Shivpal Yadav after the party splits into two.

Mr Shivpal was sidelined by the party since Akhilesh Yadav took over the party leadership in 2016.

Surprisingly both the parties, the Samajwadi Party and Samajwadi Secular Morcha shares the same icon. Lohia had been SP’s icon and even Shivpal has been projecting Lohia as his SSM’s icon.
