Samsung launched the most awaited Galaxy Note 8 yesterday. The launch event took place in New York. All the company officials were quite enthusiastic at the event. Galaxy Note 7 proved a failure and the company had to suffer a loss of about $5.3 billion. Most people thought that the failure of Note 7 means the end of Note series. But, the official sources confirmed that the company would come up with the more improved device. And now, it has fulfilled its promise through the launch of Galaxy Note 8.

The company says that the Galaxy Note 8 would prove a matchless device for the Note lovers. The device will bring many new and improved features. Here, it is also important to mention that the device features a dual camera set up at the back. This is the first device from Samsung that has the dual camera set up. Samsung says that the device will compete with upcoming Apple iPhone 8 and Google Pixel phones. The company has also announced a discounted offer to the Galaxy Note 7 users to attract more customers.

The device has a price tag of $930 for AT&T variant while the Verizon Wireless variant has a price tag of $960. This shows the device will sell in India around these price tags. The company has also offered many color options to satisfy the customers. The Galaxy Note 8 is available in Midnight Black, Maple Gold, Orchid Grey, and Deep Sea Blue colors. The preorders will begin on Thursday for US customers and the device will hit the stores on September 15.

The detailed specifications of the device show that it supports a 6.3-Inch QHD+Super Amoled Infinity Display. The display has a resolution of 1400X2960 pixels. Like Galaxy S8+, the device has full metal front and back panels with 3D glass. However, the company has stretched the display to the bottom edge making it infinity display. The back also has dual rear cameras, unlike Samsung Galaxy S8+.

There are two versions of the Galaxy Note 8 in respect of processors. The US version has an Octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC clocked at 1.6GHz. The international version will feature Samsung’s own Octa-core Exynos Chip. Galaxy Note 8 also takes the lead in terms of RAM. The device comes with 6GB (LPDDR4) RAM while the memory options include 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. There is also a Micro SD Card slot for extending the memory.

For photography, there is the dual rear camera set up. Both the cameras have a 12MP sensor and also support OIS feature which is an innovative feature exclusive to Galaxy Note 8. There is one normal camera with f/1.7 aperture while the other is Telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture and 2XOptical Zoom. The front camera has an 8MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture. The device comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. There is a 3300mAh battery that supports fast as well as wireless charging.

The device is also equipped with many sensors with an addition of iris scanner. The fingerprint sensor is on the back at an awkward position. The company has still said nothing about the global release of the device. But, we can hope that the device will hit many other markets until the end of September.
