Finally no more fear of financial sanctions from Washington, no more impediments for the deal of five advanced S-400 Triumf air defence missile system from Russia. India will get the waiver from Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanction Act (CAATSA) which is punitive US Law to sign the deal of Rs 39,000 crore with Russia.
CAATSA which restricts the countries from buying Russian weapon system and Iranian oil has permitted the three countries India, Indonesia and Vietnam for it. The final decision will be taken by the Trump administration for the same.
On Monday The US Senate and House Armed Services Committee in a joint conference report to the National Defense Authorisation Act-2019 in Washington declared a modified waiver to 231 of CAASTA which will exempt the three countries from the sanction.
The sudden change in the law of US occurred after the declaration made by the Defence Minister that India will ink the deal with Russia for S-400 Triumf air defence missile system bypassing the US pressure. He even stated that the CAASTA is “Us law not a UN law”.
S-400 Triumf air defence missile deal will be one of the successes for the Indian Military. It is advanced and encumbered with the latest technologies. The S-400 is developed by Almaz Central Design Bureau of Russia.
Its features can drool any country to have it as it has a multifunction radar, anti-craft missile system, autonomous detection and targeting system, launcher. it even holds the capacity to fire three different times of missiles at a time. The air defence military system is the most advanced one.
It has the power to detect and attack all types of aerial targets like an unmanned aerial vehicle, aircraft and ballistic and cruise missiles. It can attack around 36 targets at a time.
The S-400 has been developed two times better than the previous one. It can be easily expanded within five minutes.
The addition of this system will strengthen the Military force.
Though we are progressing on the trail which leads to advanced technologies and weapons still one should effort more to maintain the peace and good relationship with other. The war only invites the end of peace with uncounted carnage.
