Reliance Jio 4G will either slash or extend its free offer on data even after January 1, 2017, to attract customers and also boost the target customer base. If Reliance manages to provide services at the current rates, it is likely to cause hardships to Airtel, Vodafone and Idea. The prospects of these companies will be affected since high revenue data customers will probably migrate to Reliance.
However, Reliance Jio’s future 4G pricing mechanism will largely depend on upon the number of customers who avail the service from September 5 to December 31. It remains to be seen as to how customers respond to the launch offer of free voice and data services.
Difficult to get the proposed target of 100 million customers
Most likely, Reliance Jio will extend the current offer. It is difficult to fetch 100 million customers in the shortest period of time. Due to upcoming festival seasons such as Onam, Dushhera, Diwali and Christmas, people will not be prepared to migrate to a new service.
Reliance Jio 4G Special packages likely
During his speech, Ambani added that the voice calls would be free for life on Jio. According to insiders who are close to the company, the company is going to launch special packages for high-end customers and enterprises around Diwali.
Reliance Jio was officially launched by Mukesh Ambani at the annual general body meeting held in Mumbai. Soon after the public announcement of the launch, people rushed to Reliance retail outlets to grab the 4G SIM cards.
According to sources, the officials were unable to control the huge rush. Moreover, few people were frustrated and upset since the stocks ran out quickly. People who managed to get the Reliance Jio4G SIM card said that they faced activation issues due to huge server load.
Meanwhile, Reliance Jio is also planning to provide home care solution such as digital equipment’s, car tracking devices and premium content with exclusive movies, songs, and shows.
