Bhubaneswar: On Monday, Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani said that the company will soon come up with an investment of ₹3,000 crore in Odisha. Mr Ambani conveyed the information regarding the fresh investment in Bhubaneswar. He also informed that Reliance Industries Ltd has become one of the largest investors in Odisha with a total investment of ₹6,000 crore and is even planning to come up with another investment of ₹3,000 crore in the state.

“We are committing to invest an additional ₹3,000 crore in Odisha. Our investment philosophy has a clear goal, to empower everyone in the march of development. Most of our investments are in creating digital infrastructure,” said Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani at the Make in Odisha-Conclave 2018.

Mukesh Ambani also conveyed that project Reliance Jio is not just a business for the company as it is a mission which will transform India and Odisha for sure. Reliance Industries chairman asserted that the company in the last two years has created and sustained new employment opportunities of over 30,000 people in the state.

“(The) PM’s inspiring vision of Digital India is to make India a leader in the digital economy globally. Today, India is the fastest digitising economy in the whole world,” Ambani noted.

While addressing the press reporters, Mukesh Ambani revealed that Reliance Jio is a project that is leading the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of digital transformation in the country. He also informed that the mission to make India a leader in the digital economy globally has been started since the Reliance Jio project started its operations over two years ago.

On the other hand, Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the showpiece business summit of the state. During the inaugural ceremony, the Minister asked industry leaders to explore immense opportunities that the state has to offer. Mr. Patnaik also showed his interest in making the state the manufacturing hub of the east.
