AHMEDABAD: Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat in order to attend four functions in the state. These functions will include convocation of the Gujarat Forensic Science University and a meeting of the Somnath temple trust.

Regarding one of the functions trust secretary, PK Laheri said that the meeting of the Shree Somnath Trust will be organized at the Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar.

“The prime minister will arrive in the morning and address a public meeting in Jujwa village near Valsad town, where he will attend the collective e-griha pravesh (online housewarming) of beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (gramin)”, an official release said. The release by the official also revealed that under the government flagship housing scheme more than one lakh houses have been built in the state.

Amidst this a ground-breaking ceremony of a water supply project which is meant for the tribal population in Dharampur and Kaprada talukas will be performed by PM Modi from the same venue, sources revealed.

Another official said that after completing the function PM Modi will then move to Junagadh, in Saurashtra to inaugurate various projects. These projects will include an inauguration ceremony of the Gujarat medical and education research society and two other fisheries colleges that PM Modi will inaugurate at Veraval town in the Gir Somnath district. Besides this, a public meeting at the Police Training College ground near Junagadh will also be addressed by PM Modi, the official added.

After the inauguration ceremonies, PM Modi will attend the convocation ceremony of the Gujarat Forensic Science University in Gandhinagar. Which will be followed by a meeting of the Somnath temple trust in the evening.

Our sources have reported that BJP president Amit Shah is also expected at the meeting of the Somnath temple as he is one of the trustees of the temple. On this Mr. Laheri, who is one of the other trustees of the temple also said that all the seven trustees, including PM Modi, will remain present in the trust’s 117th meeting.

The other trustees of the temple are – Keshubhai Patel, who is also the chairman of the trust, veteran BJP leader L K Advani, businessman Harshvardhan Neotia and noted scholar J D Parmar.

The Somnath temple is situated in Prabhas Patan town which is named under the temple and is known as Somnath town. The town is situated in Gir-Somnath district of Saurashtra region which attracts thousands of devotees every day.
