KEVADIA, GUJARAT: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India is now moving towards becoming a economic and military superpower. The country now meets the world on its own terms, Modi added.

“India is moving ahead on the path shown by Sardar Patel. There was a time when we were seen as weak. But (Sardar Vallabhbhai)Patel turned those very weaknesses into our strength — showed us the right path,” PM Modi said unveiling the ‘Statue of Unity’  honouring the country’s first Home Minister.

While unveiling the ‘Statue of Unity’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the 182-metre bronze figure to the nation. Adding more to his statement Modi said that it was Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s determination which made us connected from Rajasthan’s Kutch to Nagaland’s Kohima and Jammu and Kashmir’s Kargil to Tamil Nadu’s Kanyakumari.

PM Modi also conveyed that a major role was played by former Deputy Prime Minister regarding the integration of over 550 princely states into the Indian Union after the Partition of 1947.

As per the sources, the 182-metre bronze statue which Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation has been constructed after spending Rs. 2,389 crore by the government. While PM Modi unveiled the huge and magnificent Statue of Unity, he conveyed that the statue is the tallest statue that has been ever made throughout the world.

PM Modi revealed that the Statue of Unity is almost double the size of the Statue of Liberty in New York which is just 93-metre. Statue of Unity even surpasses the Spring Temple Buddha in China which is 153 metres by 29 metres in size, asserted PM Modi.
