On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the medal winners of the 2018 Para Asian Games. Besides congratulating them, PM Modi met the medal winners in person in the national capital. The Prime Minister also appreciated the coaches of the medal winners and said that they were the real inspiration of the winners.
Athlete Deepa Malik expressed her joy after she was appreciated and congratulated by Prime Minister Modi. In the 2018 Para Asian Games, Deepa Malik won a bronze medal in discus and javelin throw.
“We felt very happy as the Prime Minister took out time and made it a priority to meet and invite the entire team of the Para Asian Games consisting of 70 players. This may be one of the biggest morale boosters for the team and winners.”
On the other hand, Parul Dalsukhbhai Parmar, who won a gold medal in the badminton event of the Games, said, “I am very happy today. Since the day I decided to take part in the Para Asian Games I had hoped to clinch a gold medal and meet sir.”
When our reporters asked Swimmer and gold medal winner Suyash Narayan Jadhav about the experience he had meeting PM Modi, he said that it was a memorable moment. Jadhav also said that he felt very proud as he got appreciation from the Prime Minister of the country. He further added that such things motivate us to perform even better and collect more medals for the country.
Sharad Kumar also shared with our sources the similar views that he had after meeting PM Modi. Kumar is a record smasher and gold medalist in high jump. He said that such an appreciation after victory is itself an award and the award works as a motivation to serve even better for the country.
As per the reports, India in total won 72 medals at Para Asian Games in Jakarta. And this is counted as one of the best performances given by the country in Para Asian Games.
