On Wednesday Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about some of the essential elements that help in forming a good governance, he did this by interacting with over 170 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers of the 2016 batch, who have been given positions in various ministries in the Government of India. Besides this Prime Minister Narendra Modi also discussed ‘Gram Swaraj Abhiyan and Ayushman Bharat’ with the newly-recruited IAS officers
“The prime minister encouraged them to share their experiences of field training. He discussed with them, some of the elements of good governance, including Jan Bhagidari, information flows, optimal utilisation of resources, and people’s trust in governance,” a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said.
According to our sources, the newly recruited IAS officers have completed their training from Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie and have been recently posted as Assistant Secretaries for a time period of 13 weeks in various ministries in the Government of India. The IAS officers after the successful completion of their first Central deputation will then report to their State cadres by the endof September 2018, added one of our sources.
During the interaction which took place between our Prime minister and the IAS officers, PM not only focused on key elements of good governance but also talked about people’s participation in administration, best utilization of resources, transparency, and information flow as well.
This interaction was also in the presence of Jitendra Singh, Minister of State and various other senior officials of personnel and training department. The posting of the IAS officers in various ministries is a unique initiative which has recently been taken by the central government to prepare them before they reach their respective state cadres. Besides this, after being on central deputation for 13 weeks all IAS officers will then be allowed to initiate their career in their allotted cadre groups.
Meanwhile, among this recent IAS batch, there was a topper Tina Dabi who shared a photo with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Instagram and explained about this interaction which took place between the officers and PM Narendra Modi. She even added about how PM Modi wants them to work and serve their country in the mere future.
Besides this Dabi even shared some of her pics receiving a gold medal for being the topper of the batch in a 2-year programme which was held at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie.
After sharing her batch’s picture that included Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister of State Jitendra Singh she said that, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji addressed our batch yesterday. It was a great experience listening to him and knowing his views about how he expects the new batches of IAS to work for the country.”
