The relationship between India and Pakistan has been stinging, keeping it besides Mr Narendra Modi congratulated 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan on Saturday for the designation. The former cricketer Imran Khan vowed as the country’s 22nd prime minister on Saturday. Mr Modi said “we are for good neighbourly relations. We should look for constructive and meaningful engagement towards this.” and initiated a peaceful relationship. In the letter, he stressed, “need to work for terror-free South Asia.”
Then newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan had won the election last month. Mr Modi phoned him and spoken about “peace and development” in the region. Mr Imran welcomed the initiation and said “You take one step forward, we will take two,” ensuring a healthy relationship between the two countries.
After the demise of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former cricketer turned politician said to honour the veteran BJP leader’s legacy by weaving the peaceful relationship between the two countries.
The former cricketer invited three cricketers from India to his oath ceremony held on Saturday, which was skipped by Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev while Navjot Singh Sidhu went to attend the ceremony. Mr Sidhu received criticism by the BJP as well as by Congress Chief Minister of Punjab, Amarinder Singh.
Congress Chief Minister of Punjab said “The fact is that the man should understand that our soldiers are being killed. My own regiment lost one Major and two jawans a few months ago and every day somebody is being shot.”
The terror attacks by Pakistan fed groups in 2016 and then the surgical strike executed by India in Pakistan occupied Kashmir had weakened the ties between India and Pakistan. The ceasefire violation by Pakistan is the regular activity executed by Pakistani Military.
Pakistan further spoiled the relationship by sentencing the Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav to death by a military court in April last year.
The sequences of attacks have been part of Pakistani administration. Various Pakistan-fed groups are involved in various terror oriented works, not only in India but across the world. The new Prime Minister assures for the peace but the duration is still a question.
