NEW DELHI: On Sunday, senior BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain revealed that Narendra Modi is the “favourite” prime ministerial candidate of Muslims for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections in the year 2019. The leader also added that PM Modi has achieved the trust of Muslims, especially among the women.
“The favourite prime ministerial candidate for Muslims in the 2019 polls is Narendra Modi because he sees all 132 crore people of the country just as Indians. Other parties have seen them as a vote bank,” Mr Hussain said.
As per the reports, 14 per cent of India’s 130 crore population comprises of Muslims. This 14 per cent of the Muslim community plays a key role in the electoral outcome in a sizeable number of Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala and Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking about the poverty and backwardness of the Muslims in the country, BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said that Congress is responsible for all the discomfort and injustice did to the community. He also conveyed that PM Modi and his government gave them justice and fought for their rights in the country.
“Some people in 2014 used to scare others using Narendra Modi’s name. Today, a large number of people from the Muslim community also feel that he is a man who works day and night. Narendra Modi treats all 132 crore Indians alike,” he said.
Mr Hussain further asserted that earlier the opposition parties made Muslims their vote banks by spreading the “fear” of PM Modi. But now the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself had removed that fear from the Muslims.
Mr Hussain conveyed that now as PM Modi is in power there is no problem for the people of the Muslim community. He also asserted that not even a single statement was made by PM Modi against Muslims.
