Prime Minister offered prayings to Shirdi Sai Baba on the year-long centenary celebrations of Saibaba Samadhi and addressed the rally present in the temple town.

Prime Minister was in Shirdi to commemorate the conclusion of the year-long centenary celebrations of Saibaba Samadhi on Friday.

He launched the project of 2.50 lakh houses built by Maharashtra government under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna and had the conversation with the beneficiaries through a video calling. He took the reviews of the people on projects such as housing, Ayushmaan Bharat and Swachh Bharat.

Mr Modi attacked the Congress party in the rally and said that it had used poverty as a campaign to satisfy the interests and growth of one family. He targeted the Manmohan-led Congress government for not being serious for poverty removal and being busy in spinning the “name of a particular family”.

The BJP leader shared about the seriousness of the poverty issue and even cited the failure stories of the Congress government.

Mr Modi used the event to share the achievements of his government and even handed over house keys to a beneficiary under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna

Modi said “The previous (UPA) government built only 25 lakh houses for the poor in the last four years of its term (2010-14), while the present government (NDA) has created 1.25 crore houses in its four-year tenure,”  and added that if it was done under UPA’S speed it would have taken 20 years to provide 1.25 houses.

Sharing about the efforts made by his government to bring the changes in the life of poor people, he said that his government used the same resources and manpower but it was sincere efforts and devotion which made the differences.

Mr Modi informed about the benefits and success of the housing scheme. He said that the BJP government provided bigger houses and constructed one house less than 12 months whereas UPA took 18 months.

He even informed about the strict supervision done so that no agents could exploit the poor. Financial assistance for housing has been stretched from Rs 70,000 to Rs 1.20 lakh and it was directly transferred in the beneficiary’s account.

Prime Minister even covered Ayushman Bharat in his addressing and said “Every year, 50 crore people will be provided financial help up to Rs 5 lakh for medical treatment. The objective is to ensure nobody should be deprived of medical treatment.” assuring the free medical service to every individual in the country.

Talking about the farmers and agriculture he ensured the increase in the earning of farmers and talked about the increase in the minimum support price (MSP).
