The mobile subscriber base of the leading telecom companies in India has topped its record. It has increased by 5.68 million to around 895.25 million in the month of March. The company data have presented this report. This data is of the subscriber base of 7 telecom service providers like Idea, Vodafone, and Bharti Airtel.

The numbers also include that of the recent entry into the telecom industry “Reliance Jio”. The subscriber base stood at 823.10 million in March 2017. This is after excluding the user base of Reliance Jio.

The reports were issued by the COAI (Cellular Operators Association of India). It claims that the total mobile subscribers have shown a rapid increase in March this year. The net rise in the user base is 5.68 million during March.

Bharti Airtel has topped the list with the largest number of the subscriber base. It has added three million new customers during March. This has taken the total customer base to around 273.65 million subscribers.

Airtel had the largest share in the market at 33.25 percent. Vodafone follows the same. It recorded with around 209.06 million subscribers. Idea Cellular stood at 195.37 million subscribers. And then, Reliance Jio is at 72.158 million subscribers.

COAI Director General Rajan S Mathews said that the telecom industry is undergoing greater financial stress. This is even on the rise in the user subscriptions has shown a drastic increase. This indicates that the customer base is widening. The RPT (Requisite Interventions) are developed at the front of the policy regulatory. This would ensure a secure and long-term system in the telecom industry.

Andaman and Nicobar and West Bengal have added the greatest number of customer base. The number of mobile subscribers stood at 0.86 million during March from these states.
