The Police Official shared that a militant of  Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) group was killed in an exchange of fire after ultras attacked a police post in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. Even a policeman got injured during the exchange of fire who was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital.

The police official also shared that the attack was well faced and overthrown by jawans with the killing of one LeT militant.

The source said “From the spot, two cars have also been seized by the police, which were apparently used by terrorists. Police have registered a case in this regard and investigation in the instant matter is in progress,”

The official also shared about the collection of weapons from the spot of attack.

The militant of LeT was identified as Bilal Ahmad who belonged to Tantraypora Yaripora of the neighbouring Kulgam district.

LeT termed as Lashkar-e-Taiba is one of the largest and operational Islamic terrorism founded by Hafiz Saeed, Abdullah Azzam and Zafar Iqbal in Afghanistan with funding from Osama bin Laden in 1987. It is the most active terrorist group in South Asia operating mainly from Pakistan. The headquarters of the militant group is in Muridke, near Lahore in Punjab province of Pakistan. The group mostly organises several training camps in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

Bilal who was killed during the attack had joined Let group just three months ago and he was even charged in a weapon snatching case earlier.

The spokesperson shared that the militant of the LeT was an active member and was carrying out various terror attacks civilian atrocities and security forces in the area.

The policeman who was injured in an attack was rushed to the hospital immediately and his condition is stable now.

The LeT militants are involved in the terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. They aim to disrupt the peace and harmony of the state.
