Good news for those who own Lenovo P2 smartphone. It’s time to upgrade to the latest OS. The company has rolled out the latest Android Nougat 7.0 for all Lenovo P2 phones in India. Earlier this device was running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. Many users have started getting the Nougat 7.0 OTA update.

Go to, Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update and check for OTA update. This software update comes with the build no. P2a42_S232_170320_ROW. You can click on download to get this update. As this update is a big file around 2GB, so better to use Wi-Fi connection instead of mobile data. As per the sources, this upgrade will not delete anything from your phone. However, we always recommend taking backup of all your files to avoid any unwanted loss.
Charge your phone fully before downloading the update. At least you should have 50% battery backup before starting the installation. If this installation is hindered or failed, it might put the phone at risk of getting bricked.
Users are getting this update over the air. In case if you have not received this update, you can do it manually as stated above.
We want to remind that there are no official words from the company about this update. So this update might be in its beta phase and might be tested on few users only. Some users have reported crashes while using messaging app and Wi-Fi connectivity issue. So, your device might behave abnormally after the upgrade.
This upgrade will bring many new features on board. These are split screen, U- touch fingerprint gesture control etc. Further, it fixes all security bugs.
