The Delhi Chief Minister has certified his new announcement that is Doorstep delivery of services as one of the revolutionary and corruption free step.
Mr Kejriwal tweeted “Doorstep delivery of services. A revolution in governance. A big blow to corruption. Super convenience for people. Happening for the first time anywhere in the world. Starts from 10th Sept (sic),”
The Doorstep services provide facility to get the certificates of marriage, caste, domicile, income, new water connections and driving licences and many other services at home with just paying a facilitation fee of Rs 50 each.
The Delhi government announced about the doorstep services on Friday and shared that the national capital would be able to access it from September 10. Around 100 services are included in the newly announced service.
The Kejriwal’s government had proposed doorstep delivery of services earlier this year which got approval from five-judge Constitution Bench on July 4. However, they had framed the broad parameters for the governance of the national capital and permitted the Delhi govt to look forward to the scheme. The govt had guaranteed that no citizen of the Delhi had to wait in long queues for the services listed under the scheme.
The Delhi govt had even approved the Administrative Reforms proposal which asked to hire a firm that would work as an intermediary agency, to accomplish the project of the doorstep services in the state.
The Agency will hire Mobile Sahayaks that will establish call centres as per the plan.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia shared that the Mobile Sahayak would be accessorized with all necessary equipment like camera, biometric devices etc for the doorstep services and a user would have to pay minimum charges for it.
The doorstep services which will be activated from September 10 will provide various certificates such as caste, income, driving licence, ration card, domicile, new water connection, duplicate RC and change of address in RC etc at just minimum charges.
If someone wants to apply for a driving licence then he or she has to call the concerned call centre and provide details. The agency will proceed with the application and will assign a Mobile Sahayak who will visit the applicant’s residence and get the required details and documents. But one has to visit the MLO office once for a driving test.
