Jesy Nelson is a British singer popular for her association with the band little mix that went on to win the X factor in 2011. The girl group – little mix got an immense fan base following their win. They had sold over 50 million recordings and were at an all-time peak when Jesy Nelson decided to leave the group. Her reason for leaving the group was being the victim of cyberbullying and body image issues.

Childhood and early life:
Jesy was born in Romford, East London to quite wealthy parents. Her father was a businessman and her mother was the Police Community Service Officer. She had already faced traumatic situations during her parents’ separation when she was five years old. She went to community school before joining Abbs Cross Academy and Art College in Hornchurch, London. She also went on to study at the Sylvia Young and Yvonne Rhodes Theatre Schools. She worked as a barmaid before giving her first audition at The X Factor.
She has shared her traumatic incidents of being bullied in school as a kid. She has also spoken about being cyber-bullied on Twitter. She had also been struggling with body image issues. She shared how she used to starve herself prior to live shows and programs and later binge eat. These issues can be attributed to her suicide attempt in 2013.
She has been romantically involved with several singers and artists including Jordan Banjo, Chris Clark, Chris Hughes who she claimed to be the happiest with. But they too ended in the following months. She was briefly engaged to Jake Roche in 2015 – 2016 when they broke up due to personal reasons.
