Brushing off all the allegation thrown over the BJP govt on Rafale fighter plane deal, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that Rafale deal would not be cancelled as it was needed by the defence.

He said that whether the deal was made at a higher rate or not, was a matter for the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) to investigate.

Finance Minister assured that the Rafale deal was clean and there was no chance of cancellation of it. He even cleared that the deal was inked at much cheaper price than what Congress-led UPA government had negotiated and claimed that all these facts and figures would be made clear before CAG.

Arun Jaitley said ” Fortunately, there is pricing, and for a security interest, that pricing can’t be disclosed in detail. But I have come as close to this. If you take a weaponised aircraft as of 2007, add the same two things to it again and bring it to 2016 level, the 2016 level is 20% cheaper. Now the CAG will go into pricing. They may not eventually disclose it, but, but about being 9% and 20% cheaper or not, they are looking into it. Congress has submitted a memorandum. The truth will come out,”

Mr Jaitley assured that the jets are coming to India and they were required for security and defence of the country. He said that the fighter planes would intensify combat ability of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

He accused the UPA govt and called it as the most corrupt government. He said that the UPA government of 2004-14 was the most corrupt government.

He even praised the BJP government and said that Modi-govt was the cleanest government and the Rafale deal made between the two government was clean and scam free so it would not be cancelled.

The congress govt had been making allegations on BJP for the scam in Rafale deal though many officials cleared that the deal signed between two countries was cheaper than the deal made by UPA govt.
