With the festive season around the corner, Indian Railways has decided to come up with some of the special trains in the country. In order to sort out and manage the rush of the passengers during the festivals like Durga Puja, Dusshera, Diwali, Chhath Puja etc, the national transponder will be operating special trains from Bathinda, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar, Nangaldam, Saharanpur, Jammu, Delhi, Vaishno Devi and Chandigarh railway stations.

As per the reports, with these special trains during the festive season, Indian Railways has been estimated to generate 2.61 lakh number of new seats. The said number of seats will be a part of 8 superfast special trains and one DEMU as well as one MEMU trains.

Besides the normal AC1, AC2, AC3 coaches, the special trains will have sleeper and general class coaches as well. Passengers which are interested to travel with these special trains can either book tickets through counters or may visit IRCTC official website in order to book them online.

 Below is the list of some special train services:

Bathinda-Varanasi – Bathinda Weekly Express: The train number 04998 Bathinda-Varanasi weekly express from 14 October to 18 November will leave from Bathinda station at 8:50 PM every Sunday and will reach Varanasi at 7:20 PM the next day. On the other hand, train number 04997 Varanasi – Bathinda weekly express from 15 October to 19 November will leave Varanasi station at 9:20 PM on every Monday and will reach Bathinda at 7:00 PM the next day.

Hazrat Nizamuddin-Lucknow-Hazrat Nizamuddin Weekly AC Express: On every Monday from 15 October to 12 November, Train number 04420 Hazrat Nizamuddin –Lucknow Weekly AC Express will leave Hazrat Nizamuddin station at 8:50 PM and will reach Lucknow at 5:40 AM the next day. While train number 04419 Lucknow- Hazrat Nizamuddin Weekly AC Express from 18 October to 15 November will leave from Lucknow station at 6:50 PM on every Thursday to reach Hazrat Nizamuddin at 5:10 AM the next day.

Anand Vihar Terminal-Lucknow-Anand Vihar Terminal Weekly AC Express: Train number 04422 Anand Vihar Terminal –Lucknow Weekly AC Express on every Wednesday from 17 October to 14 November will leave from Anand Vihar Terminal at 9:05 PM  and will reach Lucknow at 5:40 AM the next day. While in the opposite direction, train number 04421 Lucknow- Anand Vihar Terminal Weekly AC Express on every Tuesday from 16 October to 13 November will depart from Lucknow at 6:50 PM to reach Anand Vihar Terminal at 4:55 AM the next day.
