The researchers all over the world are trying to explore the Solar System. The main objective of this space exploration is to colonize the remote planets. The Mars and the Moon are the center of all the research studies. Various countries all across the globe are sending space missions to bring samples to the Earth. India and Japan have also joined hands to send a space mission to the Moon. The mission will bring samples of Moon rock for observation. This is the second time that the two countries are sending a joint mission. This time a rover will land on the Moon’s surface for collection of samples.

This plan is the result of November 2016 agreement between the two governments. The Prime Ministers of both the countries had signed the agreement of deep space explorations. The Chairmen of both Indian Space Research Organization (Isro) and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) have confirmed the agreement. They have not given any time frame for this mission. However, they have said that the two space agencies will finalize the mission in the next two months.

With the advancement in technology space agencies all across the world are aiming to send unmanned missions and machinery to explore the remote planets. America sent the last manned mission to the Moon in December 1972. India sent its first Moon mission Chandrayaan-1 in 2008. This marked India’s success in space exploration.

India had also aborted a plan to send a joint Moon mission with Russia. Instead, it is planning to send its own mission Chandrayaan-2 in March 2018. This mission will create an elevated map of the Moon. Japan has also succeeded in many Moon missions and has discovered a deep long tunnel under the Moon’s surface. Now, the joint mission will explore the Moon for societal benefit.
