On Sunday, Patidar leader Hardik Patel was discharged from a private hospital in Ahmedabad following a hunger strike since last 15 days. As soon as Hardik was discharged from the hospital he was shifted to his residence from where he continued his 16th day of the indefinite fast.

Our sources have reported that the police stopped the media while Hardik and media persons were deployed in large numbers on the road leading to his residence. Besides this, few media persons were even thrashed by the police in order to prevent them from entering Hardik’s house.

The 25-year-old quota spearhead started his indefinite fast on August 25 from his residence regarding the reservations for Patidars in government jobs, education and loan waiver for farmers.

While continuing his hunger strike, the  Patidar leader due to a declination in his health condition was first admitted to the Sola Civil Hospital and after some time he was shifted to a private hospital known as SGVP Holistic Hospital. Hardik got discharged from the SGVP Holistic Hospital on Sunday after which he continued his 16th day of the indefinite fast. Hardik even continued his fast from the hospital bed, said sources.

Besides this, Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader before being discharged from the hospital also informed the supporters that he will continue the hunger strike from his residence, through a Facebook Live message. Hardik on the other hand also revealed that he will continue with his hunger strike until all his demands that include farm loan waiver, Patidar quota and the release of Alpesh Kathiriya who got arrested by the police for sedition gets fulfilled. Hardik also tweeted that in order to end the strike he was threatened by a officer police to be killed.

In order to support the firm demands of the leader, a huge mass from the Patidar community took out a 30 km distance march in Mehsana district from Patan to Unjha.

Our sources have revealed that people from Patan walked on foot in order to offer prayers to their family deity goddess Umiya at the temple located in Unjha and the “padyatra” was also joined by Congress MLAs Lalit Vasoya and Asha Patel.

Until now, no attempt had been made by the government in order to negotiate with the Patidar leader, claimed Hardik’s supporters.
