Search engine giant Google has stunned the whole world by announcing that Google Lens will hit more devices in coming days. Google has not given the details of compatible devices. It has made clear that many Android and iOS devices will receive Google Lens. Here, it is worth mentioning that Google Lens is an image analyzer powered by machine learning. Google had announced it in I/O 2017 for the first time. Earlier, it was available for Pixel devices. This means that Google is going to release it for other devices after successful testing on Pixel devices.
It is important to mention that Google Lens is not a separate app. But, the company has embedded it in Google Photos for scanning of all the existing photos on the device. It is also present in Google Assistant and can provide real-time scanning. Google has also revealed that Google Lens is also getting some improvements in functionality. This announcement seems quite surprising before MWC 2018. The company is going to unveil many new improvements in already running apps.
Google has said that Lens will soon be able to differentiate the plants and animals. It would soon recognize various breeds of dogs and flowers of different plants. The company has also promised to add support for more devices over the coming few months. After the release of Google Lens, the dark mode will work best on the devices with OLED screens. This means that Samsung Galaxy S and Note series will get support for the Lens along with Pixel devices.
Google is making the support process faster and easier for more devices. Google also hopes to bring support for augmented reality to Android devices. The release of Google Lens and ARCore are important landmarks. After the successful testing and launch, the users will be able to share files and media in offline mode with the nearby users.
