Patna: A passenger of New Delhi-Patna GoAir flight was taken into custody when he mistakenly tried to open the exit door of the aircraft during the journey. The passenger who was a first-time air traveler said that he was looking for the toilet and ended up thinking the exit door as the door of the toilet.

On Monday, Police said that the incident which took place inside the New Delhi-Patna GoAir flight created panic among other fellow passengers on board. The passenger who was the reason behind the incident is a resident of Kankarbagh locality in Bihar’s Patna, Police added.

On interrogation, the passenger said that traveling for the first time by air, he doesn’t have an idea where to look for the toilet and by mistake, he ended up to the exit door. The passenger tried to open the door of the New Delhi-Patna GoAir flight when the flight was in midair and was heading towards the destination.

Airport police station SHO Mohd Sanowar Khan said, “We took him into custody as we had been informed about the incident by airport authorities who were alerted by crew members. He said he was a bank official posted in Ajmer and he had boarded the flight from Delhi last weekend.”

“We released him after making him sign a bond since there was no indication that his act was deliberate or carried out with an ulterior motive,” he added.
