External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has inaugurated the 3rd Indian Ocean Conference in Vietnam. Ms Swaraj reached there on Sunday night for the first part of her two-nation tour. She even visited Cambodia.

Ms Swaraj addressed that India has made immense efforts to maintain peace and prosperity in the region along with the growth of maritime security in the region.

Ms Sushma Swaraj even addressed that overseas Indian stuck in the foreign land can get the help just by a single tweet.

She said “If a ‘Pravasi Bharatiya’ gets stuck anywhere in the world, they are confident that the government will save them. Relief is just one tweet away.”

“What was never a priority in embassies, has become the top priority now. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made overseas Indians proud and the MEA (Ministry of External Affairs) made them confident,” the minister added.

Ms Swaraj is the most followed women politicians on Twitter because of her quick response to SOS posts from across the world. She efforts to sort out problems of passports, visas or any violence hit.

Last month she helped a man who tweeted about losing his passport before his wedding. Even she has been receiving problems regarding passport and vivas.

Ms Swaraj has even many success stories of getting back Indians from foreign countries.

Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar  shared that the visit of Ms Sushma Swaraj to Vietnam and  Cambodia  is under the New Delhi’s plan to “add dynamism to India’s Act East policy”

It is possible that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj may meet her new Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the annual UN General Assembly session to be held in the US, next month.

Sushma Swaraj is a former Supreme Court lawyer as well as Indian politician who belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party. She is serving as External Affairs Minister of India.
