The Delhi police filed charge sheet against 13 people for being involved in an assault on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash in February. The Chief Minister of Delhi, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal along with Deputy Chief Minister are part of the allegation.
The Charge sheet had been filed against Kejriwal, Sisodia, Prakash Jarwal, Amanatullah Khan, Nitin Tyagi, Rituraj Govind, Ajay Dutt, Sanjeev Jha, Rajesh Rishi, Madan Lal, Parveen Kumar, Rajesh Gupta and Dinesh Mohania are the 13 accused of assault.
The court records state that the charge sheet had been filed under IPC sections 186 (obstructing a public servant), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant for doing his duty), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement) , 504 (insult with intent to provoke breach of peace),506(ii),353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant to discharge his duties),120B (criminal conspiracy), 114 (abettor present when offence is committed),109 (punishment of abetment if the act abetted is committed in consequence and where no express is made for its punishment),36 (effect caused partly by act and partly by commission),149 (unlawful assembly) and 34 (common intention).
The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal, who received the final report, sequenced the matter on 25 August for consideration.
Anshu Prakash was assaulted during a late-night meeting with Kejriwal and AAP lawmakers held at chief minister’s residence on 19 February.
The Police has seized the hard disk of the CCTV camera installed at CM’s residence and forensic reports issued stated that camera does not show the actual time of the meeting. The Delhi Police even questioned Mr. Kejriwal and other 12 members who were present during the meeting.
The Chief Minister claimed the allegations completely bogus and called it ‘humiliating’. AAP chief spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj also stood in support and said that Prakash was not assaulted on 19 February. It was a strategy of Prime Minister to defame the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and other 11 lawmakers of AAP.
Sometimes it feels like everything that happens in the world is because of Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister is busy in improving the condition of the country, on the other hand, some political leaders are just busy in accusing the PM. The Political leaders had forgotten the process of introspection. I wish someday they calculate their sins and good deeds.
