Dave Chappelle was born to William David Chappelle III and Yvonne Seon in Silver Spring, Maryland. After his parents got divorced, Dave Chappelle stayed back in Washington with his mother while spending summers with his father went away to Ohio. In high school, he used to work as an usher at the Ford’s Theatre. He graduated from Washington’s Duke Ellington School of the Arts in 1991, where he studied theatre arts.
