On Monday, Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP) chief Amit Shah accused the Congress leaders of being ashamed of saying “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” during the election rallies.

While addressing a rally in Kukshi area of poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, BJP chief Shah asked the opposition Congress to provide the details regarding its performance when it was in power. Shah asked the details from the opposition in response to the demand of a report of four-and-a-half year governance of BJP in the state from the Congress.

“I happened to know an incident from Rajasthan where a Congress worker wanted to give the slogan ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, but he was interrupted and made to say ‘Sonia Gandhi Ki Jai’. This shows what is more important to a Congress leader… They are ashamed of giving out such slogans,” Shah claimed while addressing a rally in Kukshi area of poll-bound Madhya Pradesh.

Continuing his attack against the Congress leadership, he said, “Rahul baba (Congress chief) asks us to give a report of our four-and-a-half years of performance. He and his family have been in power for four-and-a-half generations. They should be the first one to talk about their performances.”

Shah in his speech while addressing the rally also mentioned MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and lauded the development work done by the Minister in the state. Shah conveyed that BJP-led government in the state had brought huge reforms in the agriculture sector and the figures say it all but the leaders of the opposition party ignore them.

Shah further asserted that during the period when Congress was in power in the state, farmers used to get Rs 1,300 crore in the form of crop loans but now when BJP is in power here, Chouhan has managed to provide the crop credit coverage of Rs 13,000 crore, claimed BJP chief Amit Shah.

The campaign for the Assembly elections in the state has ended on Monday evening and voting for the elections will take place on Wednesday.
