On Wednesday, the Congress released its fourth list of candidates regarding the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections that will take place on 28th of November. The fourth list of the candidates is a 29-name list which has the name of Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s brother-in-law Sanjay Singh Masani. Masani joined the Congress last week on November 3.
Our news sources have revealed that the fourth list of candidates for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections has 27 new candidates and two candidates replacing those announced in the earlier lists.
On the other hand, the Congress has named 211 of its candidates for the 230-strong assembly. The first list released on Saturday night consists of 155 names while the second list that came out on Sunday and Monday holds 16 and 13 names respectively.
It was the fourth list in which the brother of Shivraj Chouhan’s wife Sadhna Singh has been fielded from Waraseoni in Balaghat district.
Last week, Masani joined the Congress in the presence of former union minister and Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kamal Nath and the state’s campaign committee chairman Jyotiraditya Scindia. Masani is known to have done few roles in Bollywood movies.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s brother-in-law Sanjay Singh Masani repeatedly attacked the CM. Masani even used a cricket analogy and said that Dhoni’s innings are over and it’s Kohli’s era. It has been 13 long years since Shivraj Singh Chouhan is ruling Madhya Pradesh. It is high time he makes way for Kamal Nath, Masani said.
A day after a former Congress MP switched sides to join the BJP, the Congress said that it was a major setback for the Bharatiya Janata Party.
“The Congress might feel happy, but it will have no impact on the party. It might be news for the media, it is not for us,” said party spokesperson Rajneesh Agrawal. Agarwal also added that Singh has no political background.
