Mayur Sharma, Civil services aspirant was a resident of Sadiq Nagar in South Delhi who jumped in front of Jangpura metro station, Delhi and ended his life.

On Friday around 1.56 p.m, a 23-year-old man jumped in front of the metro train at the Jangpura station, disrupting services on the Central Secretariat-Faridabad section.

A senior Police officer informed that Mayur Sharma died before he could be given any medical facility. He was preparing for civil services and his father is a coast guard.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corp stated in the statement that  “A man allegedly jumped in front of an approaching train at Jangpura on Line-6 heading towards Badarpur around 1.56 p.m… (the body) being taken out from the train’s underframe. So, there will be a little delay on this section till the track is cleared.”

The Jangpura metro track falls on Violet Line which connects the Kashmere Gate station in New Delhi with Escorts Mujesar in Faridabad.

Last metro suicide case was reported at Kashmiri gate where 25-year-old Pooja jumped on the metro track and was run over by a train destined to Dilshad Garden. The suicide of 25-year-old woman delayed rail movement for half an hour.

Though strict measures are taken to minimize the metro suicide case still it seems tough to control the suicide percentage.
