BSNL is the only telecom company which is giving tough time to Reliance Jio. It has now launched a new offer aimed at the Rakhi Festival. This offer is for prepaid customers. This ‘Rakhi pe Sougaat’ offer includes unlimited onnet calls and 1GB free 2G/3G data. The offer also includes 74 minutes talk time for other local networks. All this is available on a recharge of Rs. 74. This offer is valid until August 15. The prepaid customers are enjoying this offer from 3rd August. Although it is a limited time offer, yet it will increase the credibility of the state owned telecom company.

BSNL has always introduced such offers on almost all festive. This time, it has announced this offer. The company has also announced many other recharge plans. The plans are Rs. 189, Rs. 289, and Rs. 389 which offers about 18% extra talk time to the consumers along with 1GB free data.

The official sources from the company have also told media that BSNL wants to extend its network across the country. The company is thinking to focus on rural areas of the country. It is also going to set up 1070 WIFI hotspots in Kerala. These hotspots will ease the people to use the internet. There are 140 Wi-Fi hotspots with 418 access points already operating in the country under BSNL.

India is passing through a great revolution of technology. All the telecom companies are trying to increase their customer databases through launching various cheap packages. Reliance Jio tops the list and BSNL is also trying to approach it. The company has launched the ‘Sixer 666’ pack which offers 120GB data with a validity of 60 days. We can hope that the company may extend this offer until the end of August.
