On Sunday, BJP MP for Jhalawar-Baran and son of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Dushyant Singh said that Congress candidate for Jhalrapatan Manvendra Singh is a “turncoat” and he will soon be sent back to where he belongs as he has been “parachuted” into the constituency.

These days, Mr. Dushyant Singh is campaigning for her mother Vasundhara Raje and is leading the campaigning rallies in Jhalrapatan against Mr. Manvendra Sing as Raje has been traveling across Rajasthan where the BJP is fighting to stay in power.

While addressing one of the election rallies in the state, Mr. Dushyant Singh praised the work done by her mother and Chief Minister of the state Vasundhara Raje regarding the development of the state.“For her, the electorate is her family, and the family is campaigning for her, it is not Ms. Raje,” Mr Singh said.

In contrast, he said, Mr. Manvendra Singh, son of former BJP leader Jaswant Singh, came here from a place 700-800 km away. “He has been parachuted by the Congress president [Rahul Gandhi]. When the Congress president was here a few months ago, he had said that he would not field any ‘parachute’ candidate in Rajasthan. But he has put up a paratrooper here. So our family, the electorate, is ensuring that we send him back to where he belongs,” he said.

Mr. Manvendra Singh after leaving the BJP was fielded here just weeks after he walked over to the Congress. Mr. Manvendra Singh who is fighting from Jhalrapatan against Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje won from Sheo, an Assembly constituency in his family stronghold of Barmer, in 2013.
