As per the recent reports by the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has become the leading brand advertiser on television ahead of the assembly polls in the five states. The data from the BARC showed that the saffron-party was followed by Netflix and Trivago on the list.
Talking about the figures provided by BARC, Netflix and Trivago stand with 12951 and 12795 insertions while Bharatiya Janata Party, on the other hand, has 22099 insertions in the 46th week (Saturday, November 10, 2018, to Friday, November 16, 2018). Ahead of general elections next year in the five states namely Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram is considered to be an indicator of the mood among citizens.
Though BJP in the week remained at the top in the ranking list, other brands that were part of the list were Santoor sandal and turmeric, Dettol liquid soap, Wipe, Colgate dental cream, Dettol toilet soaps, Amazon Prime video, and Roop Mantra Ayur face cream. These brands were part of the list in the order as they have been described above. As of now, no other political party has been found ranking on the list of top 10 advertiser brands on TV and neither is any party even close to this list.
Adding more to the information, FMCG brand Hindustan Lever and Reckitt Benckiser lead the category in the same week with 1,30,795 and 81,467 insertions in the BARC Top 10 Advertisers list. On the other hand, ITC Ltd jumped to the third spot with 39,506 insertions. The fourth position was occupied by Procter & Gamble with 37,611 insertions and fifth and sixth positions were taken by Ponds India and Wipro with 32,491 and 23,918 insertions respectively.
