MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan of Kotkapura and  MLA Amarjit Singh Sandoa of Ropar were sent back from Ottawa airport, Canada to  Delhi, India.

It was an embarrassing moment for the AAP when the two MLAs who visited Canada for the private purpose were restrained, examined and sent back to India. The Canadian Immigration official had detained them at around 9 am (IST) and questioned them about their visit to the North American country.

Even Delhi Chief Minister confirmed the news that their MLA’s were sent back to India after interrogation at the airport by the Canadian immigration officials.

Sudeep Singla, AAP spokesperson in Toronto shared that both had planned to stay with the sister of Kultar Singh Sandhwan in Ottawa and she was waiting to receive them. Even he tried to ask Canadian authorities but all went in vain.

Dr Balbir Singh told that both the MLA’s had taken the permission before they left the country for a private visit. AAP’s Punjab unit co-president further added that they will get to know the issues once the MLAs are back.

MLA Amarjit Singh Sandoa of Ropar has been already charged with an allegation of molestation by a woman. Tarminder Kaur had filed a complaint against him for molestation. The woman had rented her house to the AAP leader in October 2016. The case against Sando was registered by the Ropar police in July last year in which Punjab court had drafted adjurations against him last Friday, just before he left for Canada. It can be the possible reason for the detention and for sending back the MLA but other MLA is not involved in any false activities.

Kamal Garg, AAP social media manager based in Vancouver, said that “while Sandhwan was able to satisfy Canadian authorities on the purpose of his visit, Sandoa could not because he is not fluent in English”.

Many bullets of guess are fired in order to solve the puzzle behind this incident. Albeit the MLAs belong to AAP still somewhere such incident questions about the image of Nation.
