Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Amit Shah will be visiting Kannur on 27th of October to inaugurate a new district office building as a major political event. Shah during his visit will inaugurate Kannur international airport and Shah’s aircraft will be the first aircraft that will land at the airport. Regarding the visit of party chief, all preparations and arrangements are going on at the Kannur international airport for the landing of the aircraft carrying Mr. Shah.
On Thursday, Kannur International Airport Ltd. (KIAL) officials revealed that all security arrangements of Mr. Shah, who is protected by Z-category security has been made. The officials also informed that if Shah’s aircraft lands on time which is 10.15 a.m. as scheduled then he would be the first passenger to land at the new airport. The all-new Kannur International Airport will be inaugurated on December 9.
As per the sources, the visit of the party chief at Kannur has increased the level of excitement amongst the party workers and BJP leadership. However, Kannur International Airport Ltd. (KILA) is not giving any ‘undue importance’ to the landing of the aircraft with Mr. Shah.
‘‘Mr. Shah is actually going to inaugurate the airport and the party is planning to give him an appropriate reception,’’ BJP State cell coordinator K. Ranjith said when contacted. “From the airport, Mr. Shah would travel by car to the venue of the function and the convoy would include a motorcade of a large number of motorcycles of party workers”, he said.
Besides this, party president Amit Shah will also pay his visit to the house of slain BJP worker Remith at Pinarayi. He will then reach the airport by car and will fly back at 2.p.m.
Our news sources have revealed that during the emergency situations at the time of floods in the state in August, the airport’s facilities were used for facilitating the operation of Navy aircraft.
