Samsung has launched the Galaxy S8 Active in US market today. Earlier, we have heard a lot of rumors about the device. AT&T will sell the device first of all and the subscribers of this network can pre order the device from today. The other consumers can take the device from the retail market on August 11. This means that AT&T will enjoy the exclusivity for a couple of days. AT&T has also announced various offers on the shopping of this device through them. The subscribers of AT&T can benefit from the offer at paying $28.34 for 30 months. This means that they can have the device paying Rs. 1800 for 30 months. The unlocked device has the price tag of $849.99 (Rs. 54, 100).

The main boasted feature of the device is its ruggedness and shatterproof display. Like all other active variants, the device can bear the extreme environments. Galaxy S8 Active has a huge battery with long standby power. Here, one thing saddening for the fans is that infinity display is missing in this device. This is because the device has a shockproof housing.

Other specifications of the device are almost same as Galaxy S8. The device features a 5.8-inch Super Amoled QHD+ display with 2560X1440 pixels. The device runs on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 SoC. The RAM is 4GB and inbuilt memory is 64GB. There is also a Micro SD Card slot that can support 256GB card. Optics in Galaxy S8 Active include 12MP rear camera with OIS, Face detection, Autofocus, and 8XDigital zoom features. Samsung Galaxy S8 Active has an 8MP front camera with autofocus.

Now, come to the dimensions and body of the device. The dimensions of Samsung Galaxy S8 Active are 151.8X74.93X9.9 mm and it weighs 208 grams. These dimensions show clearly that the device has a rugged and tough body. The device also possesses both water and dust certifications. It can resist immersion in 5 feet of water for half an hour. The shatterproof display can resist the fall from the height of 5 feet. For tough environmental conditions, it has also passed Military specifications (MIL-STD-810G).

Samsung has officially said nothing about the availability of the device in international markets. But, we can hope to have hands on it later this year.
