HMD Global has released Android 8.0 Oreo update for its latest flagship device Nokia 8 on Friday. The Chief Product Officer HMD Global announced it through the Twitter. He says that the company is proud to announce Android 8.0 Oreo update for its users of Nokia 8. He also says that HMD Global has always tried to provide the customers with best possible Android Experience. They clarify that the company has released the update after testing and optimizing it for more than a month. Here, it is pertinent to mention that HMD Global had released the beta build for Android Oreo a month ago.
The official sources say that the company has prepared the update through close coordination with the public. The update will gradually reach the devices in the form of OTA update. This update package weighs about 1581.1MB. HMD Global has also released latest November Security Patch for the device. The company had promised the customers at the launch event that it will push regular updates and security patches for all its devices. This shows that the other devices Nokia 2, 3, 5, and 6 will also get the Android Oreo update soon.
Nokia 8 is the flagship device of the company that has Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. The onboard storage of the device is 64GB and the users can extend it to 256GB through a hybrid memory card slot. It has 5.3-inch QHD display with a resolution of 1440X2560 pixels. There is Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection to protect the display. The device also has IP54 certification against splashes.
The device has dual 13MP cameras with f/2.0 aperture at the back. The front camera also has a 13MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. All the cameras have PDAF technology support along with Phase detection features.
