The sub-brand of Huawei named “Honor” is working on the successor model of the Honor 8 smartphone. This is dubbed as Honor 9. A rendered image of Honor 9 smartphone surfaced the internet. The images are seen anywhere on the Chinese social media platform “Weibo”. The images reflect the front as well as the back panel of the smartphone. If the images are true, then the world can witness a major change in the new Honor 9 smartphone model. This change would be the placement of the fingerprint scanner. This appears to be embedded in the home button of the phone. This implies that the company is ditching the “Smart Key” feature on the latest handset.

The Smart Key feature was present in the preceding Honor 8 model. In Honor 8 model, the fingerprint scanner was present on the back panel. The home button was dubbed as a smart key. This was used for clicking pictures or for launching any app.

In addition to this, one can also spot the dual camera setup in the images. The camera comes with laser autofocus as well as dual-LED flash. On the front, the front camera is the same as that of the Honor 8 smartphone.

There is no exact information on the legitimacy of the rendered images on internet. Therefore, it is advised to the users to believe the statements as a pinch of salt.
