While Pakistan continues to be in a state of denial about its role in the Uri attack, India is ready to offer irrefutable proof in the form of fingerprints and DNA samples to Pakistan to verify that its nationals are involved in Uri attack.

No special visit this time by Pak officials

However, there will not be any bonhomie as was seen in the probe into the Pathankot attack where the visiting officials from Pakistan were feted as guests. Briefing reporters, the MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup informs that damning evidence of the involvement of Pak elements in the Uri attack is now available and is shown to the Pakistani High Commissioner.

Enough evidence against Pakistan

The evidence includes various items that had been recovered from the terrorists like GPS tracking devices, ammunitions bearing Pakistan marking, etc. Mr. Swarup added that if Pakistan wants to investigate the attack, it will be given finger prints and DNA evidence. However, no team will be allowed into Uri this time.

Foreign Secretary Jaishankar also said that these attacks were the latest in a series of provocative acts launched across the border. Massive amounts of money are being transferred to keep the state of J&K on the boil. Some infiltration efforts have been foiled. On July 30, two terrorists and two Indian soldiers were killed and on August 8, three BSF personnel and one terrorist were killed in Macchil sector.

The Foreign Secretary added that terrorist organizations work with impunity in Pakistan enjoying state connivance. The leaders of terror groups regularly spew venom and vitiate the atmosphere. When the Foreign Secretary was asked if India has given any timeframe for the conclusion of Uri investigation, Swarup said in negative. He informs that the Mumbai attack investigation is still on in Pakistan even after eight years.
