It’s a been long when we witness a woman – centric thriller film by Sridevi after her come back blockbuster movie “English – Vinglish” in the year 2012. This time, she is back with her new thriller movie “Mom”.
The Mom movie is directed by Ravi Udaywar and produced by Bony Kapoor. Along with Sridevi, Akshaye Khanna and Abhimanyu Singh are the main star cast of this movie. Nawazuddin Siddiqui acts a crucial guest appearance. Also, Pakistani actors like Sajal Ali (plays the role of Sridevi’s daughter) and Adnan Siddique performed in very important roles.
MOM, the motion picture movie, has a monolog of Nawazuddin Siddiqui telling the audience that the love of a mother never changes, and it’s selfless. The teaser of this movie has been released on Youtube on 1st April 2017 and crossed 1.5 million views. The audiences are mostly from India as well as Pakistan.
This 1-minute 6-second teaser will make you soaring and seeking for answers to many questions. From the beginning of the teaser, we can see that Sridevi is searching for something and that leads to making her do some crime or wrong. But we can’t get an answer what was she searching for? Some of the scenes remind us the Sujoy Ghosh’s masterpiece “Kahani” acted by Vidya Balan.
In this teaser, you might miss Nawazuddin Siddiqui as he has disguised himself brilliantly as an old age man for this movie, who is running away from something that we do not know. Also, we can find some glimpse of Akshaye Khanna. We are not sure about his character yet. He acted as a villain in his last movie Dishoom in 2016 which was not a successful movie at all. We expect a better performance from this talented actor this time. At the end of the teaser, Sridevi puts a question to the audience – “What will you choose between wrong and very wrong?”
This movie is multi starrer and looks promising with its thrilling teaser and brilliant acting. Some of the critics suggest that MOM has a resemblance with the recent Ravina Tandon come back film Maatr (2017). Although, Ravina Tandon herself denied the claim and pointed out that these two movies are about the different aspect of the society and deals with different issues.
MOM will release on 14th July 2017 to give us the answers to all of our questions. Till then, we can only wish good luck to the team.
